Mark Draughn

I created Windypundit in July 2002 when it was still not completely lame to name your blog somethingpundit.

I live and work (most days) on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois.

I make a living doing software development. For about 15 years I worked at it full time in an office, but now I work from home as a software consultant with clients in the Chicago area and in Maryland.

I also make some money from the ads on Windypundit.com—earnings are currenly in the mid 3-figures.

I am a community reporter for the Chi-Town Daily News.

I have recently become interested in photography and have started including pictures with some of the articles on Windypundit. I also have a photo-sharing site with all the Windypundit photos.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. At one point, I was working toward a Ph.D. in Computer Science, focusing on Information Retrieval—which is the science of search engine technology—but I decided to relax and enjoy my life instead.

In 2006, I was among those named Time Magazine's person of the year.

Can you believe it? Someone actually paid me to put an ad on my About page:

If you are in need of a mesothelioma lawyer and need legal advice due to mesothelioma then check us out for the  best asbestos attorneys in the field.

Unless you request otherwise, we will assume all messages are for publication and attribution.
