Obama Derangement Syndrome Roundup - Part 2
Obama Derangement Syndrome has been spotted by another blogger as well, although they call sufferers "Black Helicoper Republicans." I'll identify the source at the bottom, but here are the cases they pointed out
Obama=Hitler
Georgia Congressman Paul Broun is suffering a clear case of ODS with his concerns about an Obama dictatorship:
Broun cited a July speech by Obama that has circulated on the Internet in which the then-Democratic presidential candidate called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.
"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it's exactly what the Soviet Union did," Broun said. "When he's proposing to have a national security force that's answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he's showing me signs of being Marxist."
...
"We can't be lulled into complacency," Broun said. "You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I'm not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I'm saying is there is the potential."
I thought we already had a civilian national security force in the Department of Homeland Security, so I'm a little confused by Obama's statement and a little concerned about what he has in mind---we really don't need any more federal law enforcement in this country, thank you very much---but Broun's just nuts.
A Familiar Plot
There there's Cynthia Dunbar, a member of the Texas State Board of Education, who has a familiar-sounding theory:
In a column posted on the Christian Worldview Network Web site, Dunbar wrote that a terrorist attack on America during the first six months of an Obama administration "will be a planned effort by those with whom Obama truly sympathizes to take down the America that is threat to tyranny."
She also suggests Obama would seek to expand his power by declaring martial law throughout the country.
So, Dunbar thinks Obama will stage a terrorist attack on the United States to consolidate his power...hmm...I wonder if he'll be able to use the same team of secret operatives that Bush used to stage 9/11?
A Defining Source?
What really clinches both of those incidents as a cases of ODS is where I found them: In a derisive post at Little Green Footballs. When LGF says you're a crazy anti-Obama nutjob, you're a crazy anti-Obama nutjob.
